"Ballast"

I just finished watching the film, "Ballast", by Lance Hammer. It was one of the more beautifully shot films I have ever watched. The composition of the shots along with the depth of field allowed in part by the 35mm film it was shot on was gorgeous. And the capturing of winter light gave a mood that just kills throughout. In 2008, I didnt' go home for Thanksgiving back east, and instead had turkey at Denny's and drove around the Mississippi Delta for three days, taking pictures. This film captured everything I was trying to do times but couldn't times a million. See this.
